Assignment: extension of a ground floor house from the 90’s

Plot: 200m2

Floorspace: 80m2 (existing) 20m2 (extension)


The designed extension of the ground floor house provides space for an extra children's bedroom and a study, this according the client’s wish. To achieve this, the floor plan has been mirrored providing the living and dining area with lot’s of daylight and a visual relationship towards the spacious garden. The living and dining area are therefore no longer separated and the garden will be part of the living space.

The floor will be made of oak, build in furniture is handleless and white. The facade and terrace will be horizontally planked with western red cedar which will turn beautifully grayish over the years.
